16.7 miles from the historic city of Fairfax, is the naturesque and peaceful town of Lake Ridge. It is a census-designated place situated in Prince William County, Virginia.
Lake Ridge occupies 4,200 acres of land on the banks of the Occoquan River Reservoir. So don’t be surprised to see lots of property units which include single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, and commercial buildings.

A large homeowners association of Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association (LRPRA) has great offers to both the residents and the visitors. They have five pools, sports fields, basketball pads, tennis courts, a sprayground, a boat ramp, community centers, and tot lots.
Lake Ridge Creative Preschool
The Lake Ridge Creative Preschool is sponsored program by LRPRA through a partnership with the Recreation Department.
The Preschool offers classes and literacy programs for children entering kindergarten. Kids will learn to write their full name efficiently because the program begins with writing letters of the alphabet and then counting numbers for daily activities. There are also everyday creative activities that focus on improving the physical and motor skills of the kids.
Moreover, they implement close monitoring on the progress of every student. They have conferences every April as a schedule for evaluation if a kid is qualified and ready to enter kindergarten.
Lake Ridge Creative Preschool offers two Pre-Kindergarten classes. First is the three-day Pre-K class which is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:15AM to 1:30PM. Second is the five-day Pre-K class which takes place every Monday to Friday from 9:45AM to 2:00PM.
Both classes include circle time, center play and project time, outdoor or active play, lunch, music, engaging learning activities
Lake Ridge Golf and Marina
The park occupies 74 acres of land directly facing the Occoquan Reservoir. Thus, the visitors can conveniently use the Occoquan Water Trail while savoring the stunning view.
Of course, boating is available. In fact, the marina has three-season boat rentals of which you are allowed to use the boat launch and dock.
There’s more to see and do! For land activities, the whole family or gang will surely enjoy playing mini-golf, or just relax walking along the nature trails. Bring the kids as well since there is playground areas where they can have fun and explore.
Other park amenities include canoes, pedal boats, kayaks, paddle boards, picnic tables and grills, pavilions which are for rent, and bank fishing.
Fountainhead Regional Park
If you have time, why not tour around Fountainhead Regional Park as well. The place is just very close Lake Ridge and would not take you long for a drive.
The park occupies 2,000 acres of outdoor adventures and diversions. You can go kayaking, cycling, boating, or play golf. You don’t have to be a professional rider to access the mountain bike trail. You just need to have the spirit of fun in you.
